Shri Bhargava Panchang — App Terms of Use
Effective 13 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Bhargava Group Limited for the use of the Shri Bhargava Panchang app. They are short, and written to be read. By installing or using the app you accept them; if you do not, please remove it.
Who we are
The Shri Bhargava Panchang app is published and operated by Bhargava Group Limited, Toronto, Ontario, on behalf of Rajiv Bhargava, Ph.D. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Bhargava Group Limited, 6A-170 The Donway W, Suite 1004, Toronto, ON M3C 2E8, Canada.
The app stores
If you use the app on an Apple device, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and these terms add to it. If you use it on Android, Google Play's terms of service also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app, its content, or its support; that is ours. For users of Apple devices, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own and your household's use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer the app or its tables, or use them to build another calendar or service, except where the law gives you that right and cannot be limited.
What the Panchang is, and is not
The app reckons the traditional Hindu calendar — tithi, nakṣatra, yoga, karaṇa, the day's windows, festivals and fasts — for the place you choose, from astronomical calculation and the rules of the tradition. It is offered as living heritage and as guidance for keeping the days.
Timings are computed carefully and checked, but they depend on the place chosen and on conventions that differ between regions and families, so they can differ by a minute or a day from another calendar. Where your family or your priest keeps its own custom, follow it. The app does not predict events and makes no promise about outcomes.
Nothing in the app is medical advice. If you are unwell, pregnant, elderly, taking medicine, or have a health condition, ask your doctor before keeping a fast, and keep it in the gentler form the tradition allows.
Your account
You can use the whole Panchang without an account. If you create one, you must be 13 or older, or 16 or older in the European Union and in Quebec, and you are responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID, Google account or email address secure. You can delete your account at any time; see deleting your account.
What you add
The places, household days and notes you add remain yours. You allow us to store them and keep them in step across your devices solely to provide the app to you, as described in the app privacy policy. Please add only what you are entitled to share, and nothing unlawful or harmful.
Fair use
Do not misuse the app: do not interfere with it or the services behind it, try to reach parts of them you are not meant to, collect its tables by automated means, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms anyone.
Ownership
The app, its design, its text and translations, its tables as computed and presented, and the names Shri Bhargava Panchang and Rajiv Bhargava are protected by copyright and trademark law and belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. Traditional texts quoted in the app remain in the public domain; their presentation and translation are ours.
Changes and availability
We improve the app over time, and may add, change or retire features. We aim to keep it available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or without error. If we ever stop offering the app, we will give reasonable notice in the app where we can.
No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of timings. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or reliance on its timings. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Ontario or of the place where you live, or takes away the consumer rights you have there.
Ending this agreement
You may stop using the app and remove it at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute we cannot settle together in good faith goes to the courts of Ontario, without taking away the protection of the consumer laws where you live.
These terms are offered in English, Hindi and French. If the versions differ, the English governs.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
