Shri Bhargava Panchang — App Support

Updated 13 October 2026

Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, write to support@panchang.ca and a person will answer you within 48 hours.

Writing to us

Email support@panchang.ca, in English, Hindi or French. It helps to include:

  • your phone model and its iOS or Android version;
  • the app version (Profile → About Shri Bhargava Panchang);
  • the city and country the app is set to, and the date you were looking at;
  • a screenshot, if something looks wrong.

If a date or an hour looks different from the one your family or your temple keeps, tell us the date, the city and what you expected. Every such report is read and checked against the reckoning.

By telephone: (416) 572-9574, or toll-free in Canada and the United States at 1-888-338-0894. By post: Bhargava Group Limited, 6A-170 The Donway W, Suite 1004, Toronto, ON M3C 2E8, Canada.

Installing the app

On iPhone, open the App Store and search for Shri Bhargava Panchang. On Android, open Google Play and search for the same name. The publisher is shown as Bhargava Group Limited.

If the app does not appear, check that your phone's software is up to date, and that your store account's country is one where the app is offered.

Choosing your city and country

Every hour in the app is reckoned from the sunrise and sunset where you are, so the first thing it asks is your city and country. You choose it from the list; the app never uses your phone's location. Change it at any time from the place name at the top of the Today screen.

You can save more than one place — where you live, and where your parents or children wake — and switch between them. Each keeps its own sunrise.

Time zones, travel and daylight saving

Times are shown in the local time of the place you are viewing, not your phone's time zone, so a saved place in another zone always shows its own clock. When you travel, choose the city you are in and every hour moves with it.

Daylight saving changes are applied automatically for each place, including the places that do not observe it.

Why a date can differ from another calendar

A tithi belongs to the sunrise that owns it. Because every sunrise here is computed for your own city, a festival or fast can fall a day apart from a calendar printed for another place — sometimes even between the east and west of this continent. Neither date is a mistake. Where your family keeps its own custom, follow it, and ask the elders of the house.

Reminders that do not arrive

  • Check that notifications are allowed for the app in your phone's settings.
  • On iPhone, check that a Focus mode is not silencing it.
  • On Android, allow the app to run in the background, and exclude it from battery optimisation if your phone offers that setting.
  • Open the app once after you change the time, the place, or your phone — reminders are scheduled on the phone, and are refreshed when the app opens.

Changing the language

The app reads in English, Hindi and French. Change it in Profile → Language; every screen and every reminder follows. Sacred lines stay in Sanskrit in all three.

Signing in and changing phones

You do not need an account to use the Panchang. Signing in — with Apple, Google or your email — keeps your places, household days and settings on every phone you use. On a new phone, install the app and sign in the same way you did before; if you used Sign in with Apple with a hidden email address, choose Apple again.

Without an account, your settings live only on that phone and do not move to a new one.

Your information

What the app keeps, and why, is set out in the app privacy policy. To delete your account, or to clear everything from your phone, see deleting your account and data. The conditions of use are in the app terms.
