Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
panchang.ca is built to ask nothing of you. You do not sign in, there are no cookies, and nothing about you is sold, shared for advertising or tracked from page to page.
Who we are
panchang.ca is the website of Shri Bhargava Panchang, North American Edition, published by Bhargava Group Limited, 6A-170 The Donway W, Suite 1004, Toronto, Ontario M3C 2E8, Canada.
For anything about your privacy, write to namaste@panchang.ca. We reply within thirty days, and usually much sooner.
What stays on your own device
To remember your choices between visits, the site keeps four small notes in your browser’s own storage: the city you chose, the last few cities you picked, day or night colours, and that you have closed the privacy bar. Your language is remembered by the address itself (/hi, /fr).
These notes never leave your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them, and the site simply opens on the city of your time zone again.
They are not cookies, and nothing on panchang.ca sets a cookie.
What the hosting sees
The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare receives the technical details of each request — your IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time — in order to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare acts on our behalf and keeps these records only briefly. Its servers may be outside Canada, including in the United States.
We do not use analytics or advertising tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Calendar subscriptions
When you add the Panchang to your calendar, your calendar app (Apple, Google or Outlook) fetches a calendar file from panchang.ca from time to time. That request carries the same technical details as any page visit and nothing else.
The buttons for Google Calendar and Outlook open those services. What they then do is governed by their own privacy policies.
When you write to us
If you email namaste@panchang.ca, we use your name, address and message only to reply to you. We keep the conversation as long as it is useful to answer you, and delete it on request.
Children
The site collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Under Canada’s PIPEDA, Quebec’s Law 25 and, for visitors in Europe, the GDPR, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Since the site itself keeps nothing about you, this applies mainly to emails you have sent us. Write to namaste@panchang.ca.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, or the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does with information ever changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top, and the privacy bar appears again so you see it.
