  1. Shloka 1

Mudakarattamodakam sada vimuktisadhakam kaladharavatansakam vilasilokarakshakam, Anayakaikanayakam vinashitebhadaityakam natashubhashunashakam namami tam vinayakam.

Joyfully holding the modaka in his hand, ever the means to liberation, the crescent moon his ornament, protector of the world at play, the one leader of those with none, slayer of the elephant-demon, who swiftly ends the ills of those who bow: to that Vinayaka I bow.

Natetaratibhikaram navoditarkabhasvaram namatsurarinirjaram natadhikapaduddharam, Sureshvaram nidhishvaram gajeshvaram ganeshvaram maheshvaram tamashraye paratparam nirantaram.

Fearsome to those who do not bow, bright as the newly risen sun, honoured by gods and demons alike, who lifts the bowed from great trouble, lord of gods, of treasures, of elephants, of the hosts, the great Lord beyond the beyond: in him I take refuge always.

Samastalokashankaram nirastadaityakunjaram daretarodaram varam varebhavaktramaksharam, Kripakaram kshamakaram mudakaram yashaskaram manaskaram namaskritam namaskaromi bhasvaram.

Giver of good to all the worlds, who drove away the elephant-demon, great-bellied, the best, elephant-faced, imperishable, a mine of mercy, of patience and of joy, who brings renown and fulfils the hearts of those who bow: I bow to the radiant one.

Akinchanartimarjanam chirantanoktibhajanam puraripurvanandanam surarigarvacharvanam, Prapanchanashabhishanam dhananjayadibhushanam kapoladanavaranam bhaje puranavaranam.

Who wipes away the pain of the poor, praised by the ancient words, first son of Shiva, who crushes the pride of the demons, fearsome at the dissolution of the world, adorned with serpents, the elephant whose cheeks flow with grace: I worship the ancient elephant.

  5. Shloka 5

Nitantakantadantakantimantakantakatmajam achintyarupamantahinamantarayakrintanam, Hridantare nirantaram vasantameva yoginam tamekadantameva tam vichintayami santatam.

With a tusk of utter loveliness, son of the destroyer of Death, of form beyond thought, without end, who cuts away every obstacle, ever dwelling in the hearts of yogis: on that One-tusked one I meditate always.
